STERLING CAR RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Roles and Duties

Upon receiving the vehicle of their choice, the renter is to acknowledge that it has been delivered in optimal working condition. The renter is also to confirm their understanding that they must return the vehicle, including all accessories, to Sterling car rental LLC in its original state once the lease period
expires.

Sterling car rental LLC retains the authority to recall any vehicle at any point, in case the renter has infringed on any of the firm’s policies or agreements.

Sterling car rental LLC disclaims any responsibility for loss of personal belongings or goods during the rental period.

Sterling car rental LLC also holds the prerogative to alter its terms and conditions, provided that prior notification is given to any concerned parties.

Geographical Constraints

All vehicles leased from Sterling car rental LLC are permitted to be driven exclusively within the geographical borders of the United Arab Emirates.
Required documents for renting a vehicle from us:

UAE Residents:

• UAE Driving License
• Emirates ID
• Passport with Residence visa

Non-UAE Residents:

• International Driving Permit / GCC driving license / valid driving license from their country of origin (refer to Driving License Exemptions list)
• Passport with entry stamp

Renters from GCC and the countries below are able to use their driving licenses:

A second driver can be added on the vehicle, this will be at an additional cost.

We will need all documents for them as well as per above.

We can arrange delivery and collection of vehicles, this will be at an additional charge.

All renters of vehicles are not allowed to use the vehicle for any of the following:

• hirer cannot use/transport drugs or alcohol
• racing, street racing, professional racing, towing other vehicles, or off-road driving
• any other activity considered against the UAE law

The vehicle insurance does not cover any accident/damage resulting from any of the above scenarios. Any such damage would require the hirer to compensate for the damage and cost in FULL.

Payments and Additional Charges

Security Deposit

A security deposit of AED 1000 is to be paid to Sterling car rental LLC before the vehicle is rented.

The security deposit amount may vary depending on the category of the vehicle rented/ residency status of renter.

The deposit will be held for 30 calendar days following the check-in date to account for fines accrued after the rental period.

International customers will be responsible for the fees to be paid to process any international fund transfers. Said amounts will be charged against the deposit balance.

Salik

Each Salik crossing will be charged at AED 5.

The rates for Salik crossing may alter without any prior notice.

A 5% tax rate will be applicable to Sterling car rental LLC service charge.

Fines

The renter will be responsible for any fines incurred during the rental period.

An AED 20 acknowledgment fee plus a Aed 60 surcharge fee.

A 5% VAT charge will be applied to the service charge.

The renter is responsible for paid parking and for all parking charges.

Service/ Maintenance

All rental fees include routine service charges. The first service fee is covered at 1000KM.

After the first service, subsequent services will be required every 10,000KM.
The renter must inform Sterling car rental LLC at least 5 days prior to the next service.

In case of a vehicle breakdown, Sterling car rental LLC will provide a replacement car if available until the original is serviced. In the event no other cars are available other arrangements will be made with the renter.

If a vehicle wasn’t serviced at the appropriate times and incurs damage or mechanical issues, the renter is responsible. The renter will be charged for all repair costs, and the rental period will be extended to accommodate the repair time.

The renter should not allow any third party to repair the rented vehicle without Sterling car rental LLC written consent.

The renter is responsible for repairing any tire punctures.

Any damage to the tires due to puncture will be inspected by the inspection team, and the renter may be charged accordingly.

Vehicle Impounding

If the vehicle is impounded by the authorities, the hirer will be responsible for paying the impounding charges as well as the loss of rental charges to Sterling car rental LLC Parking and black points.

The hirer is expected to ensure the vehicle is always parked securely with all doors locked. The hirer will bear the cost for any damage inflicted on the vehicle and for any lost keys. The base charge for a lost key is AED 1500, although this might vary based on the specific vehicle type. Any parking
fines incurred by the hirer will be billed to them, and an administration fee will also apply.

Pickup

Pick-ups within Dubai will incur a charge of 150 AED, and for other emirates, a charge of 200 AED will apply or as otherwise confirmed.

Payment Methods

Payments can be made using the following options:

• Credit Cards – commonly accepted credit cards at Sterling car rental LLC include Mastercard and Visa.
• Debit Cards – debit cards must be linked to a bank account to be valid.
• Maestro Cards. Visa Electron Cards.

Reservation Assurance

Sterling car rental LLC guarantees a time frame in which they can deliver the selected vehicle to the renter, provided the renter fulfills all requirements.

Mileage Restrictions

For Daily/ Weekly Rentals

A daily mileage limit of 200KM is set. Any extra mileage will be charged at AED 0.50/KM.

For Monthly Rentals

A monthly mileage limit of 5000KM is set. Any additional mileage will be charged at AED 0.50/KM.

Fuel Regulations

The vehicle must be returned with an equivalent fuel level to that at the time of rental. If the fuel level is considerably lower, fuel charges may be levied.

Damage Control

The renter is responsible for maintaining the tires properly inflated at all times.

The renter is obligated to ensure that the vehicle and its components are not damaged or interfered with.

The renter must uphold a high standard of cleanliness within the vehicle.
The renter will be held liable for any repair costs incurred during their rental period.

The renter must not employ any third-party repair service – this may result in a penalty.

In the event of damage or an accident, the renter should immediately contact the Police (999) and Sterling car rental LLC (+971 54 279 7940).

It’s imperative for the renter to obtain a police report for any damage inflicted during their rental period.

Rental Duration & Return Regulations

Rental charges are calculated on a 24-hour basis.

A grace period of 2 hours is allowed on the return date. Delays exceeding 2 hours will incur charges equivalent to an extra day.

The latest check-in time is 6:00 PM. No check-ins are allowed on public holidays.

For pick-up services on the return date (within Dubai), the renter should notify Sterling car rental LLC at least 4 hours prior to the intended pick-up time.

For pick-up services on the return date (outside Dubai), the renter should inform Sterling car rental LLC at least 24 hours ahead of the scheduled pick-up time.

Insurance

Vehicles rented from Sterling car rental LLC are exclusively insured for usage on paved roads within the UAE. In the event the vehicle experiences total loss, an extra charge amounting to 20% of the vehicle’s purchase price will be required from the hirer if the vehicle is less than 12 months old, or 15% if the vehicle is older than 12 months. If the vehicle incurs any damages, the hirer must secure a police report, failing which they will bear the full cost of the repairs. Damages to windshields, tires, wheels, tools, and wheel caps are not covered by the insurance.

Should the rented vehicle be involved in an accident leading to its damage, the excess payable through insurance will depend on the outcome and findings of the police report and the vehicle insurance type the customer has chosen for the rental.

The basic rental rate includes Basic Insurance (IXS) The renter has to acquire and obtain a police report in the event of an accident. The renter will be charged for the full costs if a report has not been obtained. Personal items such as baggage etc is not covered. – Sterling car rental LLC will not be held liable for any personal items or luggage left inside the vehicle when it is returned.

All customers should have had there license for a minimum period of 6 months in order to be eligible for IXS or SUPER IXS.

Renters have the option to acquire additional vehicle insurance(Super IXS) for their rental which limits amounts due in the event of any accident/damage to the vehicle. given that the vehicle is used as per our terms and conditions.

Hirer Type of Vehicle Insurance Hirer at Fault Hit-and-Run* Not at Fault* “Hit-and-run” refers to accidents wherein the fault cannot be attributed to a third party.

Fees

Your final rate quote from Sterling car rental LLC will consist of: all compulsory charges, VAT, any other applicable taxes by the government, included KM’s/ Miles, Third Party liability insurance, Collision Damage Waiver, and Theft Waiver.

Payment

Two payment methods are available:

1) Reserve and Pay Now &

2) Reserve and Pay at Location.

Reserve and Pay Now refers to upfront payment.

Upfront payment rates will be accessible online.

Full payment of the estimated total is necessary at the time of booking.

Reserve and Pay at Location means you pay at the Sterling car rental LLC office/ POS machine. Ensure your credit card is acceptable – for this, you can refer to the terms & conditions.

Legal Age

Every hirer should be no less than 21 years of age.

Additional General Terms & Conditions If the renter is a tourist from a UAE-approved country, they must sign an agreement stating: Upon gaining UAE residency, the renter is obligated to convert their foreign license to a United Arab Emirates driving license, as it would be illegal to drive in the UAE with a foreign license after gaining residency.

Any accidents or damage to the rented vehicle, caused under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances, will result in the renter assuming full liability.
The renter must ensure that only drivers whose names are listed on the contract are permitted to drive the vehicle.

Window tinting or adding personal stickers to the vehicle is strictly prohibited by the renter. Violation of this rule will lead to a fine of AED 500 levied by Sterling car rental LLC and the renter will be fully accountable for any penalties imposed by the government.
